Making the decision to seek treatment is difficult, especially for individuals who have spent their careers helping others. The stigma surrounding treatment prevents many from admitting they may have a problem with trauma, mental health, alcohol, addictive medications or substances fear that it makes them seem weak or inferior. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth — asking for help with is one the bravest things you can do to rebuild a better life.
Residential treatment, also known as inpatient treatment, is one of the most common treatment options for those looking to recover from trauma, alcohol, substance abuse or other mental health issues. Clients live at one of our properties (private residences) during the course of their stay, allowing them to focus on healing without any distractions or interruptions. While immersed in a recovery-oriented environment and surrounded by supportive peers and culturally competent providers, clients participate in a variety of holistic and evidence-based therapies. The goal is to help them discover the roots of their addiction and develop new coping mechanisms for overcoming barriers to recovery such as triggers, cravings and stressors.
First Responder Wellness’ residential treatment is designed to specifically address the unique concerns of law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, corrections officers. We will help you in your journey toward recovery and our programs are specially geared toward the men and women who put their lives on the line for others as public safety professionals and have experienced trauma. We understand how regular exposure to stressful, high-risk situations can affect an individual and have created a residential program that combines trauma services and/or alcohol and addiction treatment to ensure lasting recovery.
Residential treatment is an effective approach to wellness. The continual access to behavioral health specialists, a supportive environment and evidence-based therapies help to remove many of the roadblocks that interfere with healing and engage patients in the transformational experience of recovery.
While residential care is effective for people in many different situations, factors such as cost, location, family or career obligations, recovery goals and more should all be considered when choosing the right treatment for you. Our Admissions Team will help you explore your options and find the appropriate level of care based on your needs.
During their time in residential treatment at First Responder Wellness, client live in our residences (private homes, not a hospital setting) and are immersed in a variety of therapies and programs that encourage meaningful progress toward lasting sobriety. This is extremely beneficial, when harmful influences, settings or temptations can derail progress and trigger a relapse. Having a safe, stable atmosphere away from home helps clients to take a step back from their daily lives to fully focus on their healing.
We understand that there is no one path to recovery, so treatment plans are flexible and designed for each individual. Combined with specialized programs that address the unique needs of first responders, clients will be able to hone their recovery skills and rebuild the confidence they’ll need to transition back into their professional lives.
