Outpatient programs are for trauma, alcohol, substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment in which clients can receive the high-quality care they need while continuing to live at home. More flexible than residential programs, outpatient provides a level of care that lets clients heal on their own terms without disrupting their daily lives.
Clients work toward lasting wellness by participating in on-site programming, attending meetings and continuing with therapy sessions without sacrificing the ability to manage responsibilities at work or home. Especially useful for those who have recently completed residential treatment, Outpatient help clients transition back into independent living where they can practice their new coping skills while maintaining an ongoing relationship with their recovery team.
Intensive outpatient programs are usually recommended for those who don’t require a medically supervised detox or are transitioning from residential care but still need some guidance as they resume their daily lives.
At First Responder Wellness, our experienced team comprised of former first responders and culturally competent behavioral health clinicians, can help you determine the appropriate level of care based on your unique needs and goals. To ensure that you have the best possible chance at achieving long-term sobriety, we will consider factors such as your alcohol or substance use history, living environment, mental health concerns, support network and more to make a recommendation that fits your situation.
Outpatient treatment is an important part of our continuum of care at First Responder Wellness and provides a structured yet flexible environment to fit the needs of our clients. Aimed specifically toward public safety professionals such as law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and corrections officers, our Outpatient Program follows a regular schedule of treatments, therapies and other services that are offered several times a week in either the morning or afternoon to accommodate busy schedules.
In addition to participation in on-site programming, patients also attend recovery/fellowship meetings a few times a week. The goal of these activities is to not only help patients learn the skills they’ll need to maintain sobriety after treatment but give them the opportunity to apply them in real-world situations. This will empower them to achieve lasting recovery and get back to their careers and daily lives feeling happier and healthier than ever.
