Admissions

When making the decision to get help for either alcohol, substance use, or mental health concerns the admission process is the first step. Those seeking help are often in crisis mode and feeling lost, confused, isolated, and unsure how to proceed. At First Responder Wellness, our goal is to ensure the process is as smooth as possible and to work quickly to get you or your loved one into treatment. With quick turnaround times and an emphasis on punctuality, our team can get you the help you need when it matters most.

For the fourth year in a row suicide has now surpassed line of duty deaths amongst first responders. With that, the culture is slowly changing from, “suck it up buttercup, we don’t ask for help” to “we know there is a problem and we want our men and women to get help and be taken care of.” Our team works regularly with federal, state, county, and municipal agencies and their unions when they have member in crisis. We will walk you through this process step by step. Many agencies are extremely supportive when someone needs help. We also understand the need for privacy and can help you get off work and through treatment successfully without anyone knowing.

What is the Admissions Process Like?

During the admission process, you will talk to one of our addiction experts who will go over your alcohol or substance use history, mental health needs, treatment goals and more to determine the level of care you may need and if First Responder Wellness is right for you. We’ll also answer any questions you may have about our programs or treatment process so that you feel prepared to take the next steps toward recovery. During this time, any out-of-pocket expenses and insurance concerns can be addressed as well.

We understand that this is often a difficult time and work efficiently to give you an answer so you can start healing right away. In some cases, a car can be sent to pick you up and bring you to treatment; otherwise, we can help you coordinate your travel arrangements to ensure you get here quickly and safely.
